  • How do Living Benefits work?

Living Benefits allow you to access a portion of your life insurance policy’s death benefit while you’re still living—if you experience a qualifying health event, such as a critical, chronic, or terminal illness.

Once approved, the insurance company will offer a lump-sum payout based on the severity of your condition. The more serious the illness and its impact on your life expectancy, the larger the benefit amount you may receive. This gives you the flexibility to cover medical bills, living expenses, or anything else—when you need it most.

  • What's an example of a Living Benefit payout?

Let’s say a client has a $500,000 term life insurance policy. If they’re diagnosed with a major, life-threatening illness like advanced cancer, they might be offered up to $400,000 as an early payout (also known as accelerating the death benefit).

In contrast, if the same client experiences a minor heart attack with a strong recovery outlook, the offer might be closer to $100,000.

Ultimately, it’s 100% your choice whether to accept the offer, decline it, or even take a partial payout—allowing you to receive funds now while leaving a portion of the death benefit in place for your loved ones.

  • What is covered for Living Benefits?

The top Living Benefits products out there will offer all of the following triggers at no extra premium cost:

‍Terminal Illness: 1-2 years expected to live

‍Chronic Illness: Unable to perform 2 of 6 activities of daily living OR severe cognitive impairment

‍Critical Illness: Cancer, heart attack, stroke, major organ transplant, kidney failure

‍Critical Injury: Paralysis, coma, major burns, severe brain injury

  • Is there a money back guarantee?

Yep! If, for whatever reason, you’re not completely happy with your policy, cancel in the first 30 days and get a full refund. After that, you can cancel any time without any cancellation fees.

  • Is there a cost to work with an Xpress Term Life agent?

Nope—our services are 100% complimentary. You’ll never pay us directly. We’re compensated by the insurance carrier we recommend, and that never affects your pricing. Whether you go through us or directly to the carrier, your cost stays exactly the same.

Our goal is simple: to help you find the best coverage at the best value, with no pressure and no hidden fees.

  • Will I need a health check?

In most cases, no medical exam is required. Thanks to advanced underwriting technology, about 7 out of 10 applicants are approved within 24–72 hours—no needles, no labs, no hassle.

If an exam is needed, don’t worry—it’s completely free and designed to be as convenient as possible. A licensed technician will come to your home or office at a time that works for you. The quick appointment includes a few basic health questions, height and weight measurements, blood pressure and pulse check, plus a simple urine and blood sample.

We’ll handle all the coordination to make it easy and stress-free.

  • How much life insurance do I need?

The simple answer is at least 10x-12x your annual income.

If you have a complex estate and/or own a business, we reccomend working with your experienced Xpress Field Underwriter to assist you in determning insurance need.

  • Who provides my life insurance policy?

As an independent agency, we’re not tied to just one company—we work for you, not the carriers. That means we shop across a wide network of the top-rated and most trusted life insurance providers in the U.S. to find the best plan and price for your unique situation.

We are currently contracted with A Rated carriers including:

    • Corebridge Financial
    • North American Company
    • Ethos Life
    • Ameritas
    • Foresters Financial
    • Mutual of Omaha
    • Banner Life
    • Symetra

The carrier we match you with will depend on factors like your age, health history, and state of residence. Our job is to make sure you get the best value and protection—without any bias toward a specific company.

  • How quickly is a Living Benefits claim paid out?

Generally, a carrier will pay you the claim within 30 days of receiving all necessary claim forms.

  • I have several health conditions. Can I still get qualified?

We’ll be honest—no, not everyone gets approved for a policy. However, the good news is that less than 5% of applicants are declined.

Our team has extensive experience navigating challenging cases, and we work closely with carriers that offer solutions for clients with sub-standard health.

We’ll do everything possible to find the right fit for your situation.
